Clinton Nsiala has emerged as a potential target for Turkish second-tier club Bursaspor as the Rangers defender's future at Ibrox remains uncertain.
The TFF 2. Lig side are understood to be interested in taking the 22-year-old on loan, with Rangers continuing to try and offload players out-of-favour with new boss Derek McInnes.
Nsiala spent the second half of last season on loan at Belgian side Westerlo, with Rangers confirming at the time that the deal included an option to buy.
The defender subsequently returned to Rangers after just four appearances under ex-Ibrox coach Issame Charai in the Belgian Pro League and has been among the players linked with an Ibrox exit during the summer transfer window.
The Gers’ also want to offload John Souttar and Ross McCausland before the window shuts and are open to offers for Bojan Miovski and Nicolas Raskin.
Connor Barron joined Middlesbrough on loan last night, while Lyall Cameron completed a temporary switch to Dundee United.
Bursaspor interest emerges
Bursaspor's interest provides Nsiala with another potential route to regular first-team football.
The Turkish club currently compete in the TFF 2. Lig and are looking to strengthen their squad, with Nsiala understood to be on their radar.
A loan move would allow the young centre-back to gain further senior experience while improving his value for a potential sale next summer for the Ibrox club, the move would likely include an option-to-buy for the Turks.
Nsiala joined Rangers from AC Milan in 2024 and made his senior breakthrough at Ibrox during the 2024/25 campaign.
He made his Rangers debut against Dundee in January 2025 and subsequently featured in both domestic and European competition, scoring once against Highland League side Fraserburgh in the Scottish Cup.
However, opportunities have been harder to come by since then, with the Frenchman frozen out under Russell Martin, Danny Rohl and now McInnes.
Another loan spell?
Nsiala's previous temporary move to Westerlo means another loan would represent a continuation of the club's efforts to get regular football into the defender's development.
Rangers confirmed when he joined Westerlo that the Belgian club had an option to make the move permanent.
However, his time in Belgium fell apart after a red card early in his spell and he returned to Scotland this summer.
The latest Bursaspor interest could now give Nsiala another opportunity away from Ibrox.
The Turkish transfer window remains open beyond the deadline in Scotland and England, potentially giving Rangers additional scope to find a solution for players who have not secured moves before the domestic deadline.
Rangers’ 2010 Champions’ League opponents have also been linked with a move for Ibrox winger McCausland, who scored against St Mirren after returning from his loan at Aris Limassol this summer.
No official offers for either have been made at present, with the Turkish window open until Friday night.
