Lyall Cameron has completed a season-long loan move from Rangers to Dundee United.
The Terrors confirmed the deal on Tuesday evening, with the midfielder joining Jim Goodwin's side subject to SFA clearance.
Cameron heads to Tannadice having spent the second half of last season on loan at Aberdeen.
The 23-year-old began his career with United's local rivals Dundee, breaking through after successful loan spells with Peterhead and Montrose before playing a key role in their promotion back to the Premiership during the 2022/23 campaign.
He scored five goals in 36 appearances during his first season back in the top flight before producing his best campaign to date the following year, registering 14 goals in all competitions.
His form attracted the attention of Rangers, who signed him at the end of the 2024/25 season after agreeing a pre-contract in the January.
Cameron made an immediate impact at Ibrox, scoring against Viktoria Plzen in a Champions; League qualifying match last summer.
However, opportunities have been more limited under Danny Rohl and now Derek McInnes, with the midfielder now returning to Dundee United, where he started his youth career, in search of regular first-team football.
Goodwin delighted with Cameron addition
Dundee United boss Goodwin believes Cameron will add quality and experience to his midfield options.
“I’m delighted Lyall has decided to join us, and I look forward to getting to work with him,” Goodwin said.
“He’s no stranger to this city and has tasted a lot of success here in his career to date, but he comes from a family of United fans and wants to make his mark in a Tangerine shirt.
“We think he will really complement our midfield options and also add that know-how of the club and of the area that he can pass on during his time here.”
Cameron ready for Tannadice return
The midfielder admitted he is excited by the opportunity to return to Dundee United and play in front of the club's supporters.
“I’m delighted to be here and am excited to get going,” Cameron said.
“It’s no secret my family are United fans so I’m looking forward to playing at Tannadice in front of the home supporters soon.
“I like to get forward and create chances and score goals and hopefully get the fans off their feet.”
Cameron will wear number 16 during his season-long spell with Dundee United.
