Clinton Nsiala - Pre-Contract Signing Announced
By Umair Mirxa
Rangers have earlier today announced on their official website the pre-contract signing of Clinton Nsiala from AC Milan.
The 20-year-old French defender will join on July 1, and becomes the club’s third signing this summer after Brazilian full-back Jefté [Fluminense] and right winger Óscar Cortés [Lens], whose loan stay was extended with an obligation to buy last week.
Nils Koppen, Director of Recruitment, said:
“We are excited to add a talented young player in Clinton to the squad.
“He joins as an exciting talent who we believe can develop and take his next steps under our manager, Philippe Clement, and his staff.
“We look forward to welcoming Clinton to Glasgow as we continue to shape the squad ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.”

Who is Clinton Nsiala?
Clinton Nsiala-Makengo was born on January 17, 2004 in Rennes, France.
He spent nine years, from age 6 to 15, at the youth academy of Cercle Paul Bert de Brequigny in Rennes, France before moving to Nantes. Two years later, in 2021, he earned himself a move to AC Milan.
He started 9 out of 10 fixtures for last season’s UEFA Youth League campaign of Milan’s Under-19s side. He made 87 total appearances for them across three seasons, usually starting in central defense, and has represented France at the Under-16 level.
Philippe Clement wants to overhaul the Rangers first-team squad with several new signings in order to better compete for the league title next season, and the transfer window has got off to an excellent start.
The deal is subject to international clearance and a work permit application.
