Derek McInnes is looking to make it three wins on the bounce as Rangers host Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership tomorrow, in the first of three Ibrox matches for the Gers ahead of a daunting trip to Celtic Park later this month.
The Light Blues have defeated Aberdeen and Falkirk, both away from home, in the past week after crashing out of Europe to Czech side Jablonec. They finally look to have gained some momentum under McInnes and will look to continue their good form against Alfred Johansson’s men.
Loyal supporters in attendance will be hoping to catch a glimpse of deadline day signings Kevin Kelsy and Badredine Bouanani against the Fir Park side.
Motherwell signed former Ibrox starlet Alex Lowry in the summer, who returns to Govan with a point to prove after his 2024 departure.
When is Rangers vs Motherwell?
The match takes place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 15:00 GMT. It will be the first of regular 3pm Saturday home games for the Gers, who face a campaign without league/group phase European football for the first time since 2017.

Is Rangers vs Motherwell on TV and will I be able to live stream the match?
No. The match falls under the television blackout window for 3pm Saturday kick offs.
However, viewers from outside the UK and Ireland can stream the match via Rangers TV or Motherwell TV.
Those within the UK and EIRE can listen to audio feeds on either service with BBC Sportsound also covering the match, as are Clyde 1, who offer updates on their Superscoreboard programme.

McInnes confirmed that both Dan Neil and Dujon Sterling would return to the squad after missing the midweek victory at Falkirk.
“Dan Neil and Dujon are both back into the squad as well from the game at Falkirk,” revealed McInnes.
“The two new lads, Kevin [Kelsy] and [Badredine] Bouanani, both trained this morning. Kevin trained yesterday; Bouanani just arrived last night. Both will be in the squad, and we’ll have another chat with them to see how much involvement they can or can’t have tomorrow.”
The Gers boss did, however, confirm that Tuur Rommens remains unavailable, but is hopeful he can return for Celtic’s visit in the Premier Sports’ Cup later this month, if not then, for the Premiership match at Celtic Park the following week.
“Tuur had a back-up scan as planned,” the manager said. “The scan indicates everything is going as it should, so he should be back training in some form ahead of Celtic next weekend.
“He’ll probably be in full training between the two Celtic games, so his best chance, if any, would probably be the second Celtic game.”
He confirmed that Youssef Chermiti remains sidelined with his ACL injury and that the knock triggered the Gers move for Kelsy.
“Getting a couple in on the last day was very important. The club have done a lot of good work to try and do that. Particularly with Youssef injury, ordinarily that was one we wouldn’t have wanted to do, but the fact he got such a serious injury during a transfer window gave us the ability to react,” he explained.
“Getting Kevin in, hopefully with his profile, is a considerable amount of money for the club to invest. Hopefully he can do the job we’re after and complement the other strikers we’ve got at the club.”
Jose Cifuentes and Ashton Scally also both remain out after pre-season injury issues.
Clinton Nsiala is still on the outside of the squad as the French defender works towards a move away, with Inside Ibrox revealing interest from Cypriot side Pafos last month.
John Souttar is also not set for a return to the squad, despite failing to depart Ibrox this summer.
"No. For me, John was in a situation where there were a lot of things going on for him. It was made clear that it might be the best option for John to look for something,” said McInnes when asked if the Scotland defender would return.
“Now that that hasn’t materialised for him at the club, we need to address that and see what the best way forward is. I’ve got more views on that, but I’ll maybe speak about that a bit more at the beginning of next week, to be honest with you.”
For the visitors, Olly Whyte has departed the club, going on loan to Ayr United on deadline day but Johansson confirmed “no difference from Wednesday, in terms of fitness” meaning he remains without Johnny Koutroumbis, Oscar Priestman, Paul McGinn, Callum Hendry and Jordan McGhee through injury.
They drew 3-3 with St Mirren with Gers loanee Paul Nsio netting against them during the week.

Duncan Nicolson will take charge of the contest. He will be assisted by Ross MacLeod and David Dunne on the sidelines as his assistants.
The fourth official is Graham Grainger while Kevin Clancy oversees VAR, with Ross Hardie assisting on the monitors.
Nicholson has taken charge of seven matches this season, six domestically and one in Europe. He has given out 26 yellow cards and one red card to Kilmarnock full back Jamie Brandon in a Premier Sports Cup group stage clash with Elgin City.
