A report in the Netherlands claims Rangers are expected to make contact over the PSV winger, although the Scottish club continue to assess their attacking options before the transfer deadline.

Rangers have been credited with fresh interest in PSV Eindhoven winger Couhaib Driouech, although Derek McInnes could face competition from former Ibrox boss Danny Rohl.

According to Dutch outlet Soccernews.nl, Rangers and Austrian giants RB Salzburg are both expected to make contact with PSV over a potential move for the 24-year-old attacker in the coming weeks.

The report claims Driouech is open to taking the next step in his career, but PSV are expected to demand a significant transfer fee before considering any offers.

Danny Rohl looks to steal Ibrox target

The link to Salzburg adds another intriguing dimension for Rangers.

Rohl left Ibrox earlier this summer to take charge of the Austrian side after a disappointing end to his spell in Glasgow.

The German has already found himself competing with Rangers in the transfer market following his move, with both clubs previously linked to Tromso midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl, with the Norwegian eventually opting for an English Premier League move to Hull City.

Rangers want Dutch winger Driouech

Now, the two sides have reportedly emerged as admirers of Driouech.

The Moroccan winger joined PSV from Excelsior in 2024 for around €3.5 million and remains under contract until the summer of 2029.

Since arriving in Eindhoven, he has contributed 12 goals and 10 assists in 61 appearances across all competitions, establishing himself as a valuable option in Peter Bosz's squad.

Driouech has also attracted interest elsewhere, with NEC, Genoa and Celta Vigo all linked with the winger in recent months, although no move has materialised.

A busy Ibrox window

Rangers have already completed a significant rebuild under McInnes this summer, adding Ross McCrorie, Ben Godfrey, Ivor Pandur, Dan Neil, Cammy Devlin, Vanja Dragojevic, Olwethu Makhanya and Daisuke Yokota to the first-team squad, with Lawrence Shankland recruited by Rohl before his arrival.

The arrival of Yokota strengthens the wide attacking positions, but Rangers continue to be linked with further reinforcements before the transfer window closes.

The Ibrox club have also been monitoring Fares Ghedjemis, although Frosinone's valuation of the Algerian winger is understood to be a stumbling block.

At this stage, there is no suggestion Rangers have submitted an official offer for Driouech.

Instead, the Dutch report claims both Rangers and RB Salzburg are preparing to open discussions with PSV as they weigh up a move for the Moroccan.

Whether McInnes decides to press ahead with a formal bid, or whether Rohl beats his former club to a transfer target, could become one of the stories to watch in the closing weeks of the summer window.
