Rangers have offloaded an out-of-favour squad member ahead of tonight's transfer window slamming shut at the midnight deadline.
With the likes of Clinton Nsiala and Cyriel Dessers look set to exit Ibrox today, with the futures of Leon King, Nedim Bajrami and Belgian star Nicolas Raskin all still up in the air.
One deal that is confirmed is the loan move that will see Colombian winger Oscar Cortes depart Ibrox, only two months after joining permanently for £4.5m, for Spanish Segunda División side Sporting de Gijón.
Rangers initially signed Cortes all the way back in January 2024, under the management of Phillipe Clement, joining from French Ligue 1 side Lens on an initial six-month loan deal alongside Mohammed Diomande, who arrived in the same window.
He started brightly, debuting against Livingston, and contributing a goal and an assist in a 5-0 demolition of Hearts as Rangers topped the SPFL Premiership table for a period of time. He also bagged a Scottish Cup assist against Ayr United.
However, a muscle injury picked up after an away win at Kilmarnock, which seen Rangers grind out a result many felt was the mark of potential champions, seen his season end. The team would derail shortly after and hand Celtic a title that should have been heading to Ibrox.
The product of Millonarios academy in his homeland, the Colombian international had done enough to impress during his short stint in Glasgow and Rangers looked to extend his loan spell in Govan the following season.
Protracted negotiations raged throughout the summer before a surprise loan with an obligation to buy for £4.5m was agreed. A risky move following his injury woes but one Clement, Nils Koppen and co felt was worth taking.
It backfired badly, Cortes played only 290 minutes across 11 appearances last season, failing to score or assist for the Light Blues throughout a disappointing season due to a mixture of poor form and injuries.
Due to the structure of the transfer he returned to Rangers this summer, as a permanently contracted player but did little to impress new head coach Russell Martin.
A rare start against Alloa Athletic in the Premier Sports Cup, and short cameos against Motherwell and Viktoria Plzen left Martin unimpressed, with the winger left out of the squad for the UEFA Champions League playoff round against Belgian side Club Brugge.

Gijon, the former club of Ibrox cult hero Nacho Novo, will take Cortes for the season, and Rangers will hope he either impresses sufficiently to make the move permanent, or returns to his initial form that would see him earn a second chance of life at Ibrox next season.
