Rangers look set to reignite their interest in Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi today ahead of the midnight deadline on this summer’s transfer window.

The Ibrox club had been linked with the 22-year-old former England Under 21 international earlier this summer but the links cooled after the Eagles slapped a £10m+ price tag on the player.

However, following big money sales of Hamza Igamane to Lille and Jefte to Palmeries, as well as expected financially lucrative sales of Nicolas Raskin and Cyriel Dessers today, alongside guaranteed UEFA Europa League group stage rewards, the Gers look set to splash the cash.

Rangers would, in an ideal scenario, loan the wide man who spent last campaign with Sheffield United, with an option to buy, however Palace have been addiment that they will only sanction a permanent sale of the academy graduate.

Celtic are also linked with the former Charlton Athletic loanee, who won their player-of-the-year award in 2023 at just 20-years-old, along with an assortment of EFL Championship sides and Rangers will be forced to spend big to secure the deal.

Rak-Sakyi will arrive, with Colombian wide man Oscar Cortes, who only officially arrived at Ibrox permanently this summer for £4.5m after the culmination of his loan with obligation deal last season, will depart on a loan deal, with heavy links to Portugal persisting for the injury prone winger.

Rangers however will not finish their spending there. Out-of-favour Everton striker Youssef Chermiti will also arrive at Ibrox on a permanent basis, this time for £8m rising upwards to £11m based on performances.

The Portuguese striker signed for Everton under the tenure of new Rangers sporting director Kevin Thelwell, and he looks set to head North to Scotland to join Martin’s side today.

The striker broke through at Sporting Lisbon in 2023, scoring three goals in 22 appearances for the Primeira Liga giants after a standout couple of seasons with their B side.

The 6 foot 4 front man joined the Toffee’s for £14m in August 2023 but has been an unmitigated disaster at the Merseyside club, failing to score a first team goal across his two seasons at the Blues, with his only goal being for their under 21’s side in an EFL Trophy group stage match against Mansfield Town from the penalty spot.

However, he is young, and has good attributes that Martin, Thelwell and co feel can be moulded into an asset for the club. If Miovski is the Dessers replacement then Chermiti is the young, Igamane replacement that the club hope can be developed into an asset to be flipped for a large profit down the line.

If these deals are completed, Rangers could be set for their biggest transfer window in terms of outlay in well over twenty years.
