Mohamed Diomande has officially completed his move from Rangers to Turkish Super Lig side Arca Corum FK, bringing his two-and-a-half-year spell at Ibrox to an end.
The Turkish club confirmed the transfer on Wednesday evening, announcing that they had reached an agreement with Rangers and the Ivory Coast international before signing the midfielder on a three-year contract with an option for a further season.
The announcement video sees Diomande say his first words with the club: “We are Anatolian”, after confirming his arrival.
Arca Corum welcomed the 24-year-old and wished him success in what represents a new chapter in his career.
“Our club has reached an agreement with Glasgow Rangers FC and the player regarding the transfer of the Ivory Coast national footballer Mohamed Diomande, and has signed a 3+1 year contract with him,” the club stated.
“With our belief that he will have a successful career under the Arca Corum FK jersey, we welcome Mohamed Diomande and wish him outstanding success in his new journey.”
Diomande leaves Rangers after 122 appearances
Diomande joined Rangers from Danish club FC Nordsjælland in January 2024, initially arriving on loan before the move was made permanent.
The midfielder went on to make 122 appearances for Rangers, scoring 10 goals during his time at Ibrox and assisting 14 – his last outing coming on Sunday as Hibernian won at Ibrox.
His arrival was initially viewed as an important piece of recruitment for Rangers under Phillipe Clement, with the Ivorian displaying his ability to operate in a number of midfield roles.
However, his performances became increasingly inconsistent, and he ultimately found himself facing competition for places following further changes to the Rangers squad under Derek McInnes.
His departure now provides Rangers with another opportunity to reshape the midfield under the former Jambo boss despite several incomings in the middle of the park already including Dan Neil and Vanja Dragojevic.
Rangers secure transfer fee
While Corum have not disclosed the financial terms of the agreement, reports indicate Rangers have secured an initial fee of approximately £4.5 million, with the overall package potentially rising to around £6 million through add-ons.
That would represent a modest profit on the reported £4.3m Rangers paid to make Diomande's move permanent in 2024.
The transfer also marks a significant move for Corum.
The Turkish club have enjoyed a rapid rise through the country's football pyramid and are preparing for their first-ever season in the Turkish top flight after winning promotion through the play-offs last season.
Diomande will therefore enter a new chapter at a club experiencing its own period of transformation.
