Bojan Miovski was all smiles after firing a hat-trick to send Rangers comfortably into the fifth round of the Scottish Cup, as Danny Rohl’s side swept aside League 2 opposition Annan Athletic with a dominant 5–0 victory at Ibrox.

The North Macedonian striker, making only his second start since returning from injury, delivered a clinical performance in front of the Rangers support, reminding everyone of his goal-scoring pedigree.

“Yes, of course. For every striker it’s important to score goals. Of course I scored three goals, I’m happy,” Miovski said after the final whistle.

The forward opened the scoring with a composed finish before doubling his tally just before half-time, converting a pinpoint cross from teenage winger Findlay Curtis. His third came from the penalty spot late on, securing both the match ball and Rangers place in the next round.

Despite completing his hat-trick, Miovski insisted his focus remains firmly on consistency rather than personal milestones.

“I don’t think about this. I’m just trying to keep going as much as I can, score every game. So today I scored three and I hope I continue that way,” he explained.

A key feature of Miovski’s display was his sharp movement in the box and his strong understanding with the wide players, particularly Curtis.

“I’m the type of striker where I need to make the movements and the wingers tried to find me today. It was a great game.

“I have a great relationship with Finlay. I always told him from this position to chip in. Today he did and I’m pleased for him,” he said.

Rangers overall performance was professional from start to finish, despite heavy rotation from Rohl following a hectic festive schedule. Miovski felt the squad approached the tie with the right mentality.

“As I said before the game, we treat the game as every game. It doesn’t matter against who we play.

“We stay professional, we did our job and we move forward,” he added.

The striker also acknowledged the potential dangers of cup ties against lower-league opposition, referencing how shocks can happen when focus slips.

He said: “We see before two days Real Madrid get out of the cup. We’re always trying with the mindset to win the game.

“We say before the game that we need to stay on the front foot and score early goals. Afterwards it’s much easier on the game,” Miovski said.

Before kick-off, Rangers supporters were introduced to the club’s three January signings – Tochi Chukwuani, Tuur Rommens and Andreas Skov Olsen – with the new arrivals receiving a warm Ibrox welcome prior to the match.

Miovski believes their presence will be crucial as Rangers push for success in the second half of the season.

“Every player who brings quality to the team is important, especially this part, half of the season. It’s important to have this consistency that we have now in the moment,” he said.

With Rangers now balancing league and cup commitments – as well as two final UEFA Europa League matches, Miovski stressed the importance of maintaining momentum.

“We need to just try to keep going, win games and of course cope,” he added.

“Just keep momentum, win games, take points and we will see what’s going to happen in the end.”

After a difficult spell on the sidelines, and a lapsed reintroduction to action, Miovski’s return to scoring form will be a major boost for Röhl’s side as they look to build on their recent upturn and continue their push for silverware.
