Rangers manager Danny Röhl insists his side retain full belief that they can still progress from their UEFA Europa League's league phase, despite the narrow margins now defining their campaign.

Speaking ahead of the crucial clash with Ferencvárosi, the German emphasised that Rangers “cannot afford another defeat” but remained adamant that improvement and momentum are on their side.

Röhl has overseen a gradual stabilisation of the team’s European performances since arriving at Ibrox. Though the early results were disappointing, he pointed to a subtle upward trend.

He said: “We lost the first one 3–0, then the second 2–0, then we played a draw.

“If we continue this row, maybe we get the first good result of what we want.

You cannot allow one more defeat if you really think about coming through to the next round.

“But I always believe we can do something.”

One of the most encouraging developments for Röhl has been the rise in confidence from the team’s attacking players - something epitomised by Bojan Miovski’s brace in the 3–0 win at Kilmarnock.

Röhl once again highlighted the importance of finding rhythm and belief in front of goal and said:“If a striker scores two times, it helps a lot for confidence.

“I’m always looking for a striker who can score - sometimes it goes easier, sometimes you have to work hard.”

The manager has spent considerable time working directly with Miovski, helping refine movement, positioning, and decisiveness.

He stressed that the forward’s willingness to learn and apply instruction has been central to his recent breakthrough.

But Röhl challenged the idea that one result or one performance is enough: “We won 3–0 but not everything was perfect.

“After a victory you can be more critical. The next weeks are very crucial for us in Europe and the league.”

Ultimately, Röhl believes Rangers are beginning to show signs of the team they can become under his leadership.

He explained: “When you see the clips, you see more phases going in the right direction.

“Development always has small setbacks - we must make them smaller and the steps forward bigger.”
