Rangers defender Max Aarons says the squad knows exactly what is required as they head into tomorrow night’s UEFA Europa League meeting with Robbie Keane's Ferencvárosi.
The former Norwich City man described the match as yet another must-win fixture in a season where pressure has become a weekly companion.
The on-loan Bournemouth full-back made no attempt to hide the urgency surrounding the tie.
He said: “Every game is a must-win and no different tomorrow.
“We need a good performance and to win, most of all.”
Rangers weekend victory in the league, a 3-0 win away to Kilmarnock brought welcome momentum, but Aarons stressed that such moments are fleeting unless followed up with consistency.
“Football moves quickly,” he explained.
“Whether you’ve won the last game or not, it becomes about the next one.
“Our eyes are on tomorrow.”
Aarons expects a demanding contest against the Hungarian champions and insists Rangers must take lessons from both their domestic win and their recent European outings.
He said: “It’s going to need a big performance.
“We need bits from Saturday - that confidence, players scoring - but we also have to be strong defensively.”
He highlighted parts of the 1–1 draw with Braga from the previous matchday as a foundation to build upon.
He said: “In that first half we looked solid defensively.
“We need to build on that but also create a lot more as a team.”
And he emphasised the intensity required at this level.
“In Europe you can’t be anything less than 100%,” he explained.
“That’s what we’ll need tomorrow.”
Aarons also believes Bojan Miovski’s brace at Kilmarnock last weekend has provided a noticeable lift throughout the squad.
He said: “For Bojan, those goals were big.
“He’s been working very hard, and for any team that wants to do well the striker has to perform.”
Having a confident No. 9, he says, is transformative: “It’s a great sight for us to have a striker in form.
“Hopefully he can follow that up tomorrow and keep going.”
Another major positive has been the emergence of Mikey Moore, who returned from injury with an outstanding goal last weekend.
Aarons was quick to highlight the teenager’s quality saying he is: “Very, very good.
“Mikey’s been great since the new manager came in and the team settled.
“To take it on the half-turn like he did and score twice [the second was disallowed for a foul in the build-up] amazing for his confidence.
“People can start seeing the level he has.”
Aarons believes Moore is one of the players who can help drive Rangers forward in the weeks ahead.
