Rangers supporters have been given another strong indication that Vanja Dragojevic's move to Ibrox is nearing completion after the midfielder's cousin shared a social media post celebrating his expected transfer.

An Instagram story uploaded by his cousin showed the 20-year-old holding a Rangers-themed cake decorated in the club's famous blue colours.

The cake also featured a Rangers shirt bearing the number 22, while the accompanying message left little doubt over the destination of Dragojevic's next move.

Translated from Serbian, her message reads: "Dear cousin, good luck at Rangers. I hope that just as you're lifting this cake, you'll be lifting trophies. We love you."

The post is the clearest public indication yet from someone close to the player that his switch to Rangers is all but complete, even though the club have yet to officially announce the transfer.

Dragojevic set for Rangers move

Dragojevic is expected to join Rangers from Partizan in a deal worth around £4 million, with the Serbian midfielder regarded as one of the country's brightest young prospects.

Inside Ibrox understands Rangers are expected to unveil their new signing after returning from their pre-season training camp in Spain.

The squad are back in Scotland and trained today and will also train Tuesday ahead of Wednesday night's friendly against Saint-Etienne at Ibrox.

That schedule provides an ideal opportunity for Rangers to introduce Dragojevic before supporters get their first chance to see the team back on home soil, if they deal is concluded sharply.

The appearance of the number 22 on the cake is also likely to catch the eye of Rangers fans.

However, it should not be viewed as confirmation that Dragojevic will wear that squad number once the move is officially completed, with Rangers yet to announce any shirt allocations for the midfielder.

Instead, the significance of the post lies in its direct reference to Rangers and the congratulatory message from a close family member before the club have formally confirmed the transfer.

Rangers to finish pre-season preperations this week

Rangers are entering the final stage of pre-season, with friendlies against Saint-Etienne and West Ham United to come before Derek McInnes' side begin their Premiership campaign away to Dundee United.

With preparations now intensifying, all signs point towards Dragojevic becoming Rangers' latest summer signing in the coming days.

If the Instagram post is any indication, the midfielder's family already believe his future lies at Ibrox, and they are hoping the next thing he lifts after that celebratory cake will be silverware in a Rangers shirt.
