Tochi Chukwuani admitted Rangers lacked sharpness in the final third but stressed the value of resilience after his first away start ended in a 0–0 draw at Hibernian’s Easter Road Stadium.

Reflecting on the contest, the midfielder said: “It was a difficult away. We didn't quite get the rhythm as we wanted. Our play in the last third wasn't good enough, but at the end of the day we take the one point and then we go home and we try to look at the stuff we can do better.”

He added the focus quickly shifts forward: “Then we focus on the next game, which is around the corner.”

Chukwuani acknowledged the lack of clear-cut chances.

“I think there's a part we can improve on,” he said, balancing critique with positives.

“If you look at the positive side, we keep the clean sheet and we continue our unbeaten run.”

He underlined game management as a growth area: “We need to be able to create more in the final third and we need to have more control in these kinds of games.

“I need to improve on [that], try to take more responsibility and try to control the game more so it doesn't become too hectic.”

Perspective on the broader campaign remained steady.

“I think it's very important that we keep our heads up. The season is long, it's till May, so we are still in the mix,” he said.

“Today we didn't lose, we still got a point. We have to keep our heads up because the next game is just around the corner and we need everyone ready.”

On his own adaptation after recent appearances, including a cup cameo vs Annan Athletic and a home start against Dundee, Chukwuani welcomed the challenge.

“It's been good. I've just been thrown into it and that's the way I like it as well,” he said, praising the dressing room support.

“I'm still trying to build relations within the group on the pitch and especially trying to find that connection with Nico [Raskin].

“The more minutes we play together, the stronger we will be.”

He assessed the display with honesty: “This wasn't a bad performance, but it was a performance that there was room for improvement for.”

With another fixture imminent when Neil McCann’s Kilmarnock head to Ibrox mid-week, he highlighted depth and support as decisive factors.

“That's why it's also good that we have good competition in the squad now. We need everyone. It doesn't take just 11 players,” he said.

“We need all the players and also the fans. Their energy, because we really need that as players.”
