Rangers reached the playoff round of the UEFA Champions League qualifying phase despite losing away to Viktoria Plzen in another unconvincing performance.
Head coach Russell Martin made a pair of changes to his side following Saturday's dismal 1-1 home draw with Dundee.
Captain James Tavernier replaced the injured Max Aarons, while Nico Raskin came in for Joe Rothwell at the base of midfield.
With the hosts 3-0 down from last week’s first leg at Ibrox they needed to push Rangers from the offing, and they set out on the front foot.
It would be the Gers however, who had the first real opening of the match with Oliver Antman finding Cyriel Dessers in the box but the Nigerian allowed the Czech defence to clear.
From then on it was a barrage of Plzen pressure with chances for former Burnley man Matěj Vydra and defender Karel Spáčil before Jefte had Rangers first effort on target.
Jack Butland, as has been typical in Rangers competitive matches so far, made some good stops to keep his side in the match but he was eventually beaten just before the half time whistle.
Jefte was all over the shop, he missed his header, lost his marker and fell over before Amar Memić drilled a cross to Rafiu Durosinmi who lashed the ball home bringing the crowd to fever pitch and brought on the belief that a comeback could be possible.
However, in the second half, despite facing more pressure, Rangers got their vital second leg goal.
John Souttar took a deep free kick and lifted it over the top for Mohammed Diomande, the Ivorian took the ball down well and played it back for Danilo, on for the injured Dessers whose ball across the box was tucked home by Lyall Cameron.
The former Dundee man netting for the first time for Rangers and it was visible how much it meant to him, jumping high into the air to celebrate.
Cameron has been a rare shining light in recent weeks, looking every bit a player able to step up to Rangers level.
His side however, would continue to struggle despite the majority of possession.
Rangers would look to play out the match, and they almost did despite numerous efforts on Butland’s goal.
That was until Plzen netted again late on, Svetozar Marković heading past the English stopper to give the Czech’s hopes of a late fight back.
It was not to be and Rangers went through 4-2 on aggregate, but questions remain, and warning signs still flash brightly. Martin’s unbeaten record is gone, and his side now have just one win in four.

Why Rangers poor start isn’t terminal: Lessons from past title winners
With Club Brugge awaiting Rangers in the playoffs, after their own 4-2 aggregate win over Austrian side RB Salzburg there must be improvements in the Gers backline.
The number of chances given up is not sustainable and will be abused not only by the Belgians, but by Celtic in the Old Firm at the end of August, and by St Mirren who Rangers face a week on Saturday knowing they need a win to kick off what already looks to be a tough domestic campaign.
