Rangers’ left-back Jefté is reportedly attracting transfer interest from Brazilian giants Palmeiras, who are currently in early talks to secure the young defender’s signature.
The Brazilian full-back, a product of Fluminense’s youth academy, has been plying his trade in the Scottish Premiership since joining Rangers last summer.
Palmeiras view Jefté as a potential replacement for their homegrown talent Vanderlan, who looks set to leave after four seasons with the club.
Although discussions remain at a preliminary stage, Jefté’s profile has clearly caught the attention of Palmeiras’ recruitment team.
Since arriving at Ibrox, the defender has made 52 appearances, contributing one goal and four assists.
However, this season he has found himself in and out of the first team, seemingly not fully trusted by new head coach Russell Martin.
Jefté spent the 2023/24 season on loan at APOEL in Cyprus before making his permanent move to Rangers, but after just one year in Scotland, a return to Brazil may be on the cards.

Defensive exit looms for Rangers as Turkish club moves to secure Yilmaz
With Ridvan Yilmaz and Robbie Fraser also expected to leave Ibrox after being informed they have no future in the first team, Rangers face an urgent need to strengthen their options at left-back, especially if Jefté does depart.
Max Aarons has filled in on the left flank early this season but has struggled to impress, while the only other option is the injured Dujon Sterling, primarily a right-back.
As the transfer window progresses, Rangers will need to act decisively to reinforce their defensive ranks and ensure stability down the left side ahead of a demanding campaign.
