Rangers head coach Danny Röhl has named his starting lineup to face Hungarian champions Ferencvárosi in tonight’s UEFA Europa League match in Budapest.

Following Saturday evening’s 3-0 win against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park the German has made two changes.

Both of those changes was enforced, with Nedim Bajrami injured after going off early in Ayrshire but would not have been available anyway due to former boss Russell Martin leaving him out of this season’s Europeans squad at the start of September. He has been replaced by Brazilian forward Danilo.

The other change is captain James Tavernier returning to the starting XI in place of the suspended Mohamed Diomande – the Ivorian was sent off in the previous matchday draw with Braga at Ibrox.

With Tavernier returning it looks as if there has also been a change of shape.

It is expected to be a back five of Max Aarons and Jayden Meghoma at full back, with a central defensive trio of Tavernier, Emmanuel Fernandez and Nasser Djiga all in front of goalkeeper Jack Butland.

A midfield of Nicolas Raskin, Connor Barron, who was excellent in the win at the weekend, with Djeidi Gassama and the returning Danilo supporting Bojan Miovski, who netted a brace in the same victory.

On the bench this evening are Liam Kelly, Dujon Sterling, Findlay Curtis, Lyall Cameron, Mikey Moore, Thelo Aasgaard, Youssef Chermiti, Lewis Stewart and Calum Adamson – with the latter two both returning from co-operation loans with Scottish League 1 side Alloa Athletic – where both have impressed with the Wasps.

There had been doubts over the fitness of former Dundee man Cameron but he has been deemed fit enough to make the substitutes bench – as has Dujon Sterling, who Röhl suggested yesterday during his press conference would get his first minutes of the season against Robbie Keane’s side as he makes his return from a long-term injury layoff.

Missing out are the injured defensive duo of John Souttar and Derek Cornelius, both out since the previous international break and expected to remain so until January.

Also absent are Joe Rothwell, Oliver Antman and Bailey Rice with injuries and Clinton Nsiala, Rabbi Matondo and Kieran Dowell are all unregistered for Europe.

The Ferencvárosi lineup is: Former Hibs keeper Dávid Gróf; captain Ibrahim Cissé, Toon Raemaekers, Gábor Szalai; Cebrail Makreckis, Alex Tóth – who passed a late fitness test, Gabi Kanichowsky, Bence Ötvös, Callum O'Dowda; Bamidele Yusuf and Barnabás Varga in a 3-5-2 formation.

Subs are: Dániel Radnóti; Aleksander Pešić, Jonathan Levi, Kristoffer Zachariassen, Cadu, Zsomber Gruber, Benjamin Gólik, Júlio Romão, Csongor Lakatos, Ádám Madarász, Lenny Joseph and Barnabás Nagy.
