Rangers have defeated Panithanikos 3-1 across two legs to emerge to the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.

They will now face Czech side Viktoria Plzeň for a spot in the playoff round, where old firm rivals Celtic enter the competition.

Viktoria Plzeň secured their place in the third qualifying round of the Champions League with a dramatic 3-1 victory over Servette at the Stade de Genève, overturning a 1-0 deficit from the first leg to advance 3-2 on aggregate.

Servette took an early lead in the second leg, with Alexis Antunes scoring in the 4th minute.

However, Plzeň responded quickly. Karel Spáčil equalized and Matej Vydra gave them the advantage just three minutes later.

Despite a red card for Plzeň's Adrian Zeljkovic just after the hour mark, they maintained their composure.

Rafiu Durosinmi sealed the win with a penalty late on, ensuring Plzeň's progression to face Rangers at Ibrox next Tuesday for the first leg.

Plzeň's approach was characterized by a strong defensive setup and quick transitions.

After conceding early, they capitalized on Servette's defensive lapses, scoring two goals in quick succession. Despite being reduced to ten men, they held firm and secured the necessary result.

With this victory, Plzeň now face Russell Martin’s men in the third qualifying round.

The first leg is scheduled for Tuesday, August 5, at Ibrox Stadium, with the return leg in the Czech Republic on August 12. This encounter marks the first meeting between the two clubs.

Rangers will need to be wary of Plzeň's resilience and ability to capitalize on opportunities, as demonstrated in their comeback against Servette.

The upcoming tie promises to be a closely contested battle as both teams aim for a spot in the next round.
