Rangers are set to announce the departure of another first team player this week.
Youth graduate Ross McCausland has agreed a loan move to Aris Limassol and will depart the club before Saturday’s league opener away to Motherwell.
McCausland, 22, will join the Cypriot side on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.
The Northern Irish winger is under contract until 2027 but will not play for the club again after being deemed surplus to requirements by new head coach Russell Martin.
The winger made his debut under Giovanni Van Bronckhorst away to Hearts in 2022.
A youthful Rangers side won 3-1 that day as the first team were rested ahead of the 2022 Europa League Final in Seville.
He went on to break into the first team in 2023 under Phillipe Clement, playing 66 and scoring seven for the Gers.
McCausland is said to be disappointed at having to depart his boyhood club but is ready to move having been told he is not in the plans.
He joins up with ex Rangers players Connor Goldson and Leon Balogun at the Cypriot side we faced in the 2023/24 Europa League group stage.
McCausland’s last day at the Training Centre will be tomorrow with the move set to be completed on Thursday when the first team return from Greece following Wednesday’s second leg tie against Panathinaikos.
Ben Davies looks set to join him out to door at Ibrox with reports suggesting Birmingham City, where he spent last season on loan, have agreed a fee around £750k for the former Liverpool defender.
Jose Cifuentes, now training with the U17’s side at the Rangers Training Centre is also in talks with South American teams about a move.
Rangers have reportedly refused to listen to loans for the midfielder and will only sanction a permanent departure.
Leon King, Clinton Nsiala, Rabbi Matondo and Ridvan Yilmaz have all also been told they can find new clubs.
The latter two remain injured, holding up any potential departures.
