Rangers are expected to confirm the signing of Ivor Pandur today as Derek McInnes closes in on another key addition to his squad ahead of the new season.

The Croatian goalkeeper is poised to arrive from Hull City in a deal worth around £6million, with the transfer understood to be nearing completion after progressing rapidly behind the scenes.

Pandur's arrival is expected to pave the way for Jack Butland to leave Ibrox, although the former England international remains a Rangers player for now.

Hull are expected to complete the signing of Butland for around £3m, but that move is not anticipated to be finalised until after Tuesday following the reset of the club's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) accounting period.

The structure of the two transfers allows Hull to register the £6m sale of Pandur before completing Butland's arrival, easing the Premier League club's PSR position.

Butland was present at Rangers' training centre earlier on Monday as preparations for the 2026/27 campaign continued, despite growing expectations that his three-year spell at Ibrox is approaching its conclusion.

The 33-year-old made 55 appearances in all competitions last season, keeping 16 clean sheets and has attracted interest from Hull following the Tigers' promotion to the Premier League.

He will reunite with former Gers teammates Kieran Dowell and John Lundstram at the Tigers.

Pandur, meanwhile, arrives with an impressive reputation after starring during Hull's promotion-winning campaign.

The Croatia international missed just one Championship fixture last season and played a central role in helping Hull secure a return to the top flight via the playoffs, in which he kept three clean sheets across the semi-finals and final.

Rangers believe they are signing one of the Championship's standout goalkeepers, with the 25-year-old viewed as a long-term successor between the posts.

The transfer also continues a summer window that has moved with remarkable speed under McInnes and the club's recruitment team.

Deals have largely progressed away from the spotlight before emerging at an advanced stage, with Ben Godfrey already through the door and Pandur now expected to become Rangers' latest addition.

The club have also resigned Ross McCrorie and signed Hearts’ captain Lawrence Shankland prior to Danny Rohl’s departure to RB Salzburg.

Attention will then turn to the completion of Butland's move south, with Hull expected to press ahead once the new PSR accounting period begins on Tuesday.

Goalkeeping coach Sal Bibbo also departed the club today, joining Frank Lampard's Coventry City.
