Rangers have confirmed the signing of Badredine Bouanani from Stuttgart on a season-long loan with an option-to-buy.
The Algerian winger becomes the latest addition to Derek McInnes' squad after Rangers moved quickly to complete the deadline-day deal.
Bouanani arrives with an option to make his move to Ibrox permanent, with reports indicating that the clause has been set at €18 million.
The 21-year-old joined Stuttgart from Nice last summer and made 28 appearances for the German club last season, scoring twice and providing two assists.
He has also earned five caps for Algeria, and was a regular in the French youth setup, and arrives at Rangers with a growing reputation as one of the country's exciting young attacking talents.
Bouanani is predominantly a right winger and is capable of operating from either flank, with his left foot allowing him to cut inside from the right.
Mahrez comparison
His arrival has already generated plenty of excitement among Algerian football supporters, with one prominent African football journalist describing him as a Riyad “Mahrez regen” and predicting that he will “light up Ibrox.”
The comparison to Mahrez reflects Bouanani's left-footed style and attacking role, although the Rangers newcomer still has a long way to go before reaching the levels achieved by the Algeria and Manchester City legend.
Bouanani has already experienced playing against Rangers during his time at Nice, scoring in their 4-1 victory over Philippe Clement's side in the Europa League in 2024.
The move also continues Rangers' strong recruitment of Algerian talent.
If he makes his competitive debut, Bouanani will become only the third Algerian to play for Rangers, following former Ibrox favourites Brahim Hemdani and Madjid Bougherra.
The winger joins after Rangers also completed the signing of Venezuelan striker Kevin Kelsy from Portland Timbers, giving McInnes further options in attack following Youssef Chermiti's injury.

“He is very good with the ball, a real threat in one v one situations and he has already gained experience in two of Europe’s top leagues.
“We have been working hard to strengthen key areas of the team during this transfer window, and we believe Badredine has all of the attributes to make a strong contribution at Rangers.”
Bouanani is now set to begin his Rangers career with expectations high around the young winger and the potential he could bring to Ibrox.

“I am very happy to be here and excited to start," he said to the club site.
“I know it’s a tough league with a lot of duels and intensity, so I will need to work.
“I have a lot of experience now, so I will try to put it into this league.”
With the permanent option giving Rangers the opportunity to assess Bouanani over the course of the season, the Algerian will have the chance to prove that he can become a long-term part of McInnes' plans.
Should the option be taken, he would become both Rangers’ and Scottish football’s record signing.
