Oscar Cortes played almost the full match as Huracan secured a memorable 2-0 victory over San Lorenzo in the latest Buenos Aires derby.
The Rangers loanee started the contest at the Nuevo Gasometro and remained on the pitch until injury time, when he was substituted as Huracan saw out an important victory.
Ecuadorian striker Jordy Caicedo was the hero for El Globo, scoring both goals to secure their first away victory over San Lorenzo at the stadium in almost 25 years.
The result continues an encouraging start to the Torneo Clausura for Huracan, who have now collected seven points from their opening four matches.
Their record stands at two wins, one draw and one defeat.
Cortes becomes key player in Argentina
Cortes has played an important role in that start, with the Colombian now boasting two goals and four assists in 22 appearances since joining the Argentine club.
The 22-year-old moved to Huracan on a year-long loan from Rangers during the January transfer window after an injury-hit period at Ibrox.
Cortes initially joined Rangers on loan in January 2024, impressing early before the first of a run of injuries curtailed his Ibrox career.
He was brought back in the summer on another years loan with a controversial obligation-to-buy included by the Ibrox club.
He spent much of that season out before the obligation to buy in his deal with Lens was automatically triggered, making his £4.5million move to Ibrox permanent but was quickly loaned to Sporting Gijon in Spain before an early return to Scotland in January.
He was subsequently allowed to move to Argentina in an attempt to rediscover his form and consistency.
Rangers could recoup Cortes cash
The agreement with Huracan also contains an option for the Argentine club to make the move permanent.
The structure reportedly gives Huracan three opportunities to purchase 50 per cent of Cortes' economic rights, with the value increasing depending on when the option is exercised.
The reported figures are $1.8m for the first option, $2m for the second and $2.2m for the third.
That gives Cortes an opportunity to determine his own future through his performances in Argentina, while Rangers could potentially recoup a significant portion of their investment.
His latest outing represents another positive step, with Cortes trusted to start one of the biggest fixtures in Argentine football and remaining on the pitch for virtually the entire contest.
Huracan's victory leaves them with seven points from four matches, and Cortes will now look to maintain his run of involvement as the Clausura campaign continues.
