Wide midfielder Oliver Antman is expected to undergo his medical with Anderlecht on Thursday, July 30, after Rangers reached an agreement with the Belgian giants over the Finland international's transfer.

The clubs have agreed a deal worth a reported €5.25 million, with Antman travelling to Belgium to complete the final stages of the move.

Several clubs from across Europe were interested in signing the winger from Ibrox, with FC Twente among those pushing to secure his signature, but Anderlecht have won the race and are now closing in on completing the transfer.

Derek McInnes has confirmed Antman has already left Glasgow after Rangers struck an agreement with Anderlecht.

The Rangers manager said: "An agreement has been reached and Oliver has made the trip to finalize the transfer.

"I am quite sure it will turn out positively for him."

The comments confirm Antman is now in Belgium, where he is expected to complete his medical before signing his contract.

Anderlecht close in on Rangers winger

Antman only joined Rangers from Go Ahead Eagles last summer but now looks set to bring his spell at Ibrox to an end after just one season.

The Finland international has earned 31 senior caps for his country and attracted interest from several clubs during the transfer window.

As mentioned, FC Twente were among the clubs keen to sign the winger, but Anderlecht moved decisively to reach an agreement with Rangers and now appear set to complete the deal.

Barring any late complications during the medical, Antman is expected to become the latest player to leave Ibrox as McInnes continues reshaping his squad ahead of the new season.

Interest continues from Belgium in Rangers players, with Club Brugge, who eliminated Russell Martin’s Rangers from the UEFA Champions’ League last campaign keeping tabs on the Gers’ Mauritania international winger Djeidi Gassama, who also only joined the Scottish giants last summer.

Antman scored one goal in 28 games for Rangers during his sole season in Scotland.

Nedim Bajrami has also been told he can speak with other clubs and has departed Rangers Training Centre to do so, with an exit expected in the coming days.
