Despite rumoured reports of a falling out with head coach Russell Martin and being dropped for Sunday's Old Firm derby draw at Ibrox it seems that Belgian midfielder Nicolas Raskin is going nowhere this window.
Raskin’s father Thierry Raskin made scathing comments about Martin following last week’s desperate 6-0 defeat away to Club Brugge, where Raskin was left benched for the ineffective Joe Rothwell until deep in the second half.
The former Standard Liege midfielder was then told to train with the ‘bomb squad’ of Leon King and Clinton Nsiala after a team meeting at the Rangers Training Centre following recovery training on Thursday, and was eventually left out of the squad entirely for the match against Celtic and told to stay away from Ibrox, with former Rangers striker Kris Boyd claiming he had been ‘banished’
However, according to Rangers news sites such as the Rangers Review and Heart & Hand, the Belgian maestro will remain at Ibrox following tonight’s transfer deadline and look to rebuild his relationship with Martin and the team during the break when he returns from international duty.
Several teams enquired about a potential move for the tenacious tackler, with English Premier League giants rumoured to be in for him such as Manchester United alongside Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers but none came to fruition.
Martin and Raskin will hold talks upon his returns from international duty where his Belgian side will face Lichenstein and Kazakhstan in World Cup qualifiers, to try and find a solution to issues faced.
Former interim first team coach Billy Dodds had spoken on the issue, saying Raskin challenges coaches and wants ideas explained to him fully, something that appeared to be lost in communication with the incumbent boss.
Despite this, both are keen to rejuvenate their working relationship and help Rangers improve after a poor start to the season.

Rangers are yet to offer Raskin a new contract despite only two years remaining on his current deal, the Gers no.43 is keen to stay and extend his deal should talks go well but is awaiting on Rangers suggesting initial terms.
This update looks to have killed any potential move for Norwich City and Scotland star Kenny McLean, who had been earmarked as a last minute replacement should Raskin depart.
The best midfielder in Scotland will stay in Scotland, and stay at Rangers for the season ahead, a massive boost for the Gers faltering title challenge.
