The international break has claimed another managerial casualty as ex-Rangers defender Ian Murray departs troubled Championship club Greenock Morton.
Murray leaves the Greenock club with just one point from their opening eight league games, with a match against Murray's former side Raith Rovers coming this weekend.
A club statement read - 'the board of Greenock Morton Football club can confirm that Ian Murray has been relieved of his duties as first team manager with immediate effect. First team coach Bill Orr has also been relieved of his duties

Another ex-Ger takes interim role
Former Rangers winger Michael O'Halloran, a current first team player at Morton has been put in temporary charge at Cappielow along with current assistant manager Gary Miller, and will be immediately tasked with trying to turn around the fortunes of the current bottom side, and attempt to rein in 9th placed Queens Park, who sit 3 points clear of the bottom going into this weekends fixtures.
Murray's departure from cash strapped Morton, comes after only 4 wins in 29 games in charge of the Greenock club, amidst a wave of financial issues.
Morton's main sponsor Dalrada had a reduction in a planned £540,000 sponsorship into the club restructured at the beginning of the season, and with multi club investment group Estrella pulling out of a planned £750,000 investment for 35% of the club in August, the club have been playing with a severely weakened playing squad, with many match day squads containing upwards of 5-6 teenagers to make up the numbers.

O'Halloran at Ibrox
O'Halloran's playing career at Ibrox saw him make 38 appearances, scoring 3 goals, but will be most notorious for a straight red card in a 2-0 win over Hibernian in January 2017.
Turning things around for Morton might be a bigger task for him, than trying to win over a Rangers support that never took to him in the first place following his transfer to Ibrox from St Johnstone.
