Rangers and Danny Rohl look to recover from back-to-back big match defeats to Celtic and Roma as they head north to Dens Park to take on Steven Pressley’s Dundee.

Dundee have also lost their previous two matches, following up a 2-0 victory over Celtic with away defeats to both Falkirk and Hearts.

Rangers go into the match 5th, three behind both Falkirk and Hibernian who have played two games more – but will need a winning margin of six to return to third place.

Team news

Rangers remain without the long-term injured Dujon Sterling for the match, although the former Chelsea defender has returned to full training this month.

Kieran Dowell and Rabbi Matondo also remain sidelined. Dowell has been out since August and the Welsh winger since the end of last season.

Clinton Nsiala has travelled with the matchday squad for the first time this season, but it remains to be seen if he makes the team or bench.

Dundee welcome back Yan Dhanda after an injury but Pressley mentioned he had several players unavailable pre-match without naming them.

The man with the whistle is Matthew MacDermid for this match. In the nine Gers matches he has taken charge of they have won seven, drawn one, and lost one. In that time he has booked ten Rangers players and 19 opposition players, sending off none.

He has awarded Rangers three penalties and given zero against.

His assistants on the sidelines are Ross Macleod and Scott Anderson. The fourth official is yet to be confirmed.

Kevin Clancy will be on VAR with Duncan Nicolson assisting him.
