Danny Rohl focused on Rangers only as he addresses rivals and gives team news before Dundee

Gers boss insists standards and “100%” focus matter more than results elsewhere in title race

Head coach Danny Rohl has warned Rangers they cannot afford to dip “one percent” when Dundee arrive at Ibrox, insisting recent momentum will count for nothing without the same intensity and standards.

Rangers 1-0 win over Ludogorets secured their first UEFA Europa League victory of the campaign and extended their run to seven straight wins in all competitions, with six clean sheets in the last nine matches.

But Rohl’s message was clear: progress does not mean perfection.

“The first win in Europe was always good for us, especially to keep the momentum,” he said.

“It is now seven wins in a row, fantastic from the last nine games, six clean sheets as well.

“This is great but I saw as well things to improve and this is for me also the part and I will not close my eyes and say everything was nice.”

Rohl pointed to a braver press after the break against Ludogorets and a greater presence between the lines, but stressed Rangers must be more ruthless when on top - a theme that carries into the Dundee test.

“We adjusted in the second half a little bit, our pressing was a little bit braver, that was more what I like,” he said.

“Then we created a lot of good opportunities and then we have to make the score 2-0 or 3-0.

“We have this story very often in these games.”

The head coach has consistently emphasised defensive solidity as the platform for results.

“The big difference at the moment in the league and Europe is that we need clean sheets,” he explained.

“If we have clean sheets, we have a chance to win games.”

However, with Steven Pressley’s men likely to defend deep and look to frustrate, Rohl knows improvement in the final third is essential.

“We create good opportunities in open play, but this is then again the finalisation,” he said.

“We take the wrong decision sometimes. We want to score by our own instead of we make the extra pass to the team-mate.

“This is a part what we have to improve.”

Attention has already shifted firmly to Sunday, and Rohl left no room for complacency.

“It feels at the moment we can win, win, win, win, but it's always hard working,” he said.

“When we think on Sunday we can go with 99%, then we have not the chance. We need again 100% to win the next game.”

Selection-wise, new signings Tochi Chukwueni and Andreas Skov Olsen are available, while Tuur Rommens is not, giving Rohl options without disrupting rhythm.

“I will not rotate too much because at the moment there’s also momentum in the group,” he said.

“But it's good to have a different bench - we need this competition.”

With Hearts and Celtic meeting each other, the external narrative is obvious - but Rohl refuses to be distracted.

“I look just to ourselves,” he said.

“If we do our homework until the end of the season, we have a big chance.

“The teams around us can do what they want. If we focus on our own and we take the wins, then we can smile at the end of the season.”
