Rangers Football Club seem to have finalized free transfer deals for English midfielder Kieran Dowell and goalkeeper Jack Butland, according to reports from the Scottish Sun.
The 24-year-old Dowell, whose contract with Norwich City expires this summer, is poised to link up with his former Canaries teammate Todd Cantwell, who joined Rangers in January.
Rangers manager Michael Beale is eager to bring in at least three more new signings to bolster the squad’s rebuild.
Beale appears to be taking an early bird approach to the transfer market in a bid to change tactics at Ibrox.
The arrivals of Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin have already paid dividends since the winter window, and Dowell and Butland could follow suit.
With these potential deals in the bag, Rangers look well set to mount a proper title challenge to rivals Celtic next season. However, more transfers are in the pipeline, including Chelsea right-back Dujon Sterling.
Rangers FC’s title ambitions bolstered by Michael Beale
Beale has recently spoken of capitalizing on free agents, and he seems to be delivering on that promise.
Don’t rule out Rangers uncovering some hidden gems, with Honduran attacking midfielder Luis Palma a top target for the coach.
After a turbulent few months, the mood at Ibrox seems to be brightening, and several deals could be wrapped up ahead of pre-season.
