Rangers Women’s team will enjoy a landmark 2025/26 campaign with more matches than ever before taking place at their spiritual home, Ibrox Stadium.

Following the release of the new SWPL fixtures this morning, the club confirmed that Ibrox will become the primary venue for their home games next season, subject to scheduling availability.

This marks a major step forward in the ongoing development of the women’s programme at Rangers.

Last season, the team had the opportunity to play four matches at Ibrox, a huge boost for both players and supporters alike. The move to feature more games at the iconic ground will further elevate the profile of women’s football at the club and provide an even greater platform to attract and develop top talent.

Managerial Update

This season, Rangers Women will face the campaign without a permanent manager following Jo Potter’s departure to take up a role at Crystal Palace.

Potter, who had been a key figure in the team’s progress, led Rangers to a poor third place finish last term. The side narrowly missed out on the SWPL title after a tense league decider against Hibernian at Ibrox to throw away the league championship.

With the managerial position currently vacant, the club remains committed to building on last year’s momentum and pushing for further success.

A new appointment will be imminent but will take it’s time, as with the men’s team and Russell Martin, this appointment is crucial to making the side champions again.

More Games at Ibrox, With Flexibility

While Ibrox is set to host most of the home fixtures, the club will continue to use Broadwood Stadium as a backup venue when clashes with men’s fixtures or pitch maintenance arise.

Rangers have worked closely with SWPL, SPFL, and partners to manage scheduling, ensuring the playing surface’s integrity and the best experience for fans.

Women’s and Girls’ Managing Director Donald Gillies emphasised the significance of the move.

He said: "Ibrox is one of the most recognisable venues anywhere in football, and to know we’ll be playing even more games there than ever before will be a huge thrill for the team, and I am sure our supporters too.

“This move is a key milestone for the club and the women’s programme."

Fixture Highlights for 2025/26

Rangers will kick off their ScottishPower Women’s Premier League campaign away to Montrose on Sunday, August 17th. The club targets league glory to complement successive cup doubles won in recent seasons.

The first Old Firm derby of the season will be played away at Celtic on Sunday, September 7th, promising another fierce chapter in the iconic rivalry, with another Glasgow derby against Partick Thistle, now without former manager Brian Graham, at Petershill the following week.

The second pre-split Old Firm derby will take place at Ibrox on November 16th.

The year will close with a trip to Aberdeen on Sunday, December 21st. Following the winter break, Rangers will return to Ibrox to face Hibernian at home on Sunday, January 18th, 2026.

Concluding the pre-split campaign, Rangers will host Montrose at Ibrox on Sunday, February 22nd.

Supporters are advised by Rangers that while the club aims to host as many games at Ibrox as possible, any changes due to scheduling conflicts will be communicated promptly with at least three weeks’ notice via official channels.

Season ticket holders will receive updates directly should venue alterations occur.

This bold step underscores Rangers’ ambition to elevate the women’s game to new heights and provide fans with a top-class experience on and off the pitch.
