Following the departure of Brazilian full back Jefte to Palmeries earlier this week, Rangers are set to confirm another departure in the same position.
Jefte departed Ibrox to head back to his homeland in a deal reported to be worth up to £6m, showing that the trading model is alive and well despite a lack of departures this summer.
They are set to boost their transfer kitty further with fellow left back Ridvan Yilmaz set for his own exit this week, returning to former club Besiktas.
Turkish defender Yilmaz joined Rangers under the management of Giovanni Van Bronckhorst in the summer of 2022 but a mixture of injuries and inconsistent form have meant he never managed to nail down a starting role in the team’s left back slot.
Yilmaz will rejoin Besiktas for a fee believed to be around £2m, a sharp decline from the deal worth around £3.5m.
The Turk played 74 times for the Gers across all competitions, netting twice. He deputised for both Borna Barisic at first, and later Jefte during his spell at Ibrox, never becoming a settled first choice.
He did have a good spell at right back under Phillipe Clement at the turn of the year, performing excellently in last years 3-0 New Year’s old firm derby win, but his form quickly fell away again.
He has found himself frozen out this summer under Russell Martin and has been training separately from the main squad.
Rangers have also lost left back Robbie Fraser in the past week with all 3 first team options departing in one window.

19-year-old Jayden Meghoma was signed on a season-long loan from English Premier League side Brentford, but the club remain in the market for another left sided full back with Dujon Sterling expected to be out until the Christmas period.
Both Max Aarons and James Tavernier have deputised at left back but the club are on the lookout for a more natural option that will fit Martin’s style of play with former Hibs man Josh Doig and Roma’s Anass Salah-Eddine both linked in the past week.
Ben Davies was also an option to fill in at left back but the former Liverpool man has also found himself frozen out at Ibrox, with the English defender set to join Oxford United on loan for the final year of his Ibrox deal.
Rangers are also looking to offload defenders Leon King and Clinton Nsiala, with no deals on the table for either yet after King turned down a permanent move to Wycombe Wanderers earlier this summer, rejecting the opportunity to play regularly and reunite with former Rangers teammate Alex Lowry.
The final man out of the picture is Jose Cifuentes, with a loan move to Major League Soccer side Toronto reportedly in the works.
Reinforcements are needed with as many as 9 players set to arrive, both in and out in the final week or so of the transfer window.
After a poor start and a toxic atmosphere amongst the support, new faces are needed, with quality and quantity both needed to turn the tide both on the park and in the stands.
