Hamza Igamane was born on 2nd November, 2002 in Témara, Morocco. He has spent the entirety of his fledgling career at AS FAR sport club, based in the country’s capital city, Rabat—joining their academy at an early age.

Igamane comes from a family of footballers, and truly established himself in AS FAR’s first team squad during the 2022-23 season where his performances caught the eye in the CAF Confederation Cup. He is the youngest player in the club’s history to have won Botola—the national league title [2022-23], the Moroccan Throne Cup [2020-21], and the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations [2023].

In total, he played 58 matches for AS FAR, and scored 16 goals.

He was signed by Rangers FC on 5th July, 2024, and became the club’s seventh acquisition of the summer transfer window, following Mohamed Diomande, Jefté, Oscar Cortes, Clinton Nsiala, Connor Barron, and Liam Kelly.

“I am really proud to join Rangers and I can’t wait to get started with my teammates,” said Igamane, speaking after he signed. “It is a huge club, with a loyal fanbase and a lot of history. I am excited for my future here and looking forward to being a part of this club.”

Manager Philippe Clement, who will be hoping Igamane can hit the ground running at the Ibrox next season, said:

“I am delighted to welcome Hamza to Rangers and we believe he will be a great asset to our squad. He has a lot of talent and potential and he will bring a fresh presence to our attacking options.

“We know it will be a big change in culture and a new country for Hamza to adapt to, but as a club we will support him on and off the pitch to settle in here.”

Hamza Igamane is the latest exciting addition to the Rangers FC squad, and if he can settle in quickly to his new environment, his talent and goal contributions will certainly help Philippe Clement return the club to the top of the Scottish Premiership.

“I would like to welcome Hamza to Scotland and to Rangers and I am thrilled he will be joining our squad,” said Nils Koppen, Director of Football Recruitment. “He is an exciting young talent, who has already shown his energy, skill and determination during his time in Morocco and at international level. I look forward to seeing him develop further in our club.”
