Danny Rohl says he is encouraged by Rangers growing momentum in the league but insists there is still “plenty of space for improvement” after his side defeated Dundee 3-0 at Dens Park to record a third successive Scottish Premiership victory.

Goals from Nicolas Raskin, Mikey Moore and Djeidi Gassama secured the points, with Rangers now unbeaten in the three league matches since the German’s appointment.

It also marked a second consecutive away clean sheet, something Rohl highlighted as a key sign of progress.

“In general, I’m happy,” he said.

“Three wins in a row in the league, two clean sheets away, it’s fantastic.

“To score three goals is good, but of course in the second half we can speak about improvements. It’s good that we still have space to improve.”

Rangers were aggressive and decisive in the opening 45 minutes, controlling the tempo and repeatedly breaking through Dundee’s defensive shape.

Rohl said the fast start reflected exactly what he has asked from his squad.

“We respect the opponent, but our expectation is still to win these games,” he explained.

“I want to see a team who is hungry for wins and hungry for duels.

“In the first half I really felt we played with a lot of dynamic. Scoring early helps, it gives confidence, and we controlled the game well.”

The manager made three substitutions at half-time, something he stressed was intentional rather than reactive.

“I wanted to send a signal,” he said.

“It was not about keeping the 2-0. I said to the players we have to go for the 3-0, the 4-0, and be on the front foot.

“My team are learning that I use the full squad, even if you don’t start, you can have a big impact.”

Rohl also emphasised the importance of unity, after a large travelling support sang his name throughout the second half.

“I try always to have a good relationship with our fans,” he said.

“I see more togetherness. If we build it all in one direction, players, staff, supporters, then we can build something here.”

Asked whether the squad is close to its strongest possible starting XI, Rohl instead stressed collective development.

He said: “With just 11 players we will not win, Mikey [Moore], for example, has made a huge step, but we need the whole squad.

“We grow as a group and then individuals grow as well.”

Rohl remains realistic but confident about the path ahead.

He said: “Our expectation is high. I’m here to build something, not just to win one game.

“We are taking steps and at the moment I see a step forward, but now we continue.”
