Rangers aim to put a struggling Celtic side to the sword and secure back-to-back Old Firm victories as they aim to beat Martin O’Neill’s Hoops for the second time in a week.
However, following last week’s 3-0 win at Ibrox in the Premier Sports’ Cup, Derek McInnes now faces a much harder, and much more daunting prospect. Beating Celtic in the league at Celtic Park, with no away support.
Rangers can close the gap to just two points on their Glasgow rivals with a win, ending their 100% Scottish Premiership record. Lose, and they fall eight behind the Parkhead side ahead of an extended international break.

Team news
Rangers remain without the long-term injured trio of captain Lawrence Shankland, Youssef Chermiti and Daisuke Yokota for the trip to Celtic Park.
McInnes told the media that Ibrox CEO Jim Gillespie spoke to Willie Collum and the SFA for a tackle from Mika Baur on forward Ryan Naderi in the fixture last week, revealing that the Czech striker is now a doubt for the return fixture.
“I'm really not happy with the challenge, but I'm not going to get caught up in referee chat,” McInnes said.
“But I'm surprised that the referee wasn't asked to look at that. I find it strange that he wasn't. Ryan's ankle's a mess. It was a mess. It was a poor challenge.
"Sometimes these challenges can happen, but it didn't look great, to be honest. Ryan is one of two players who's a wee bit of doubt for the game on Sunday. I don't want to get bogged down in referee chat, to be honest.”
Tuur Rommens “trained on Friday” said McInnes and will be assessed before kick off as the Belgian defender looks to make his first matchday squad in a month.
Jose Cifuentes and Ashton Scally are both also still unavailable with injury, with both undergoing surgery in pre-season.
John Souttar and Clinton Nsiala are both still frozen out, the Scotland international’s proposed move to Greek side Aris Thessaloniki broke down with the ex-Hearts man wanting compensation from the Gers to make the move.
McInnes has said that Souttar could “come back into things” if no move transpired, but he is unlikely to make the squad against Celtic.
Celtic meanwhile are without Alistair Johnston, Jota and Callum Osmand with injury. While Chelsea loanee Landon Emenalo is yet to even arrive in Scotland.
Yang Hyun-Jun is on international duty with South Korea’s U23 squad.
Rangers’ Kim Min-Su is available despite his call up, with his international window to be spent with the main Korea squad.

John Beaton will take charge of the contest. He will be assisted by David McGeachie and Jonathan Bell on the sidelines as his assistants.
The fourth official is Ryan Lee while Nick Walsh, who refereed last Sunday’s game. oversees VAR, with Grant Irvine assisting on the monitors.
Beaton has taken charge of six matches this season, four in the Premiership and two in the League Cup. He has given out 24 yellow cards and one red card. He has awarded three penalties, including one against Rangers for St Mirren at Ibrox in August, which was saved by Ivor Pandur.
