Danny Rohl says Andreas Skov Olsen’s Rangers debut is a “great opportunity” for both player and team as he looks to use his squad depth to navigate a demanding schedule and maintain momentum against Dundee.

The head coach made several changes following Thursday night’s European outing, handing Skov Olsen his first start while also bringing Tochi Chukwuani into the side.

For Rohl, the decision was rooted in both necessity and belief in what the newcomers can offer.

“We have a couple of changes,” he explained.

“I think after our game on Thursday we have to use the full squad and I think it's a great opportunity as well for Skov and Tochi to get the first minutes.

“I think it's normal, both are excited, we are excited. We want to see a good team performance, it's crucial for us that we deliver, that we make our job today.”

Skov Olsen’s arrival adds another attacking option, particularly in wide areas, and Rohl’s emphasis was on collective performance rather than individual spotlight.

“We face a tough opponent, they will try everything,” he said.

“They have a little bit of a run from the last five games, three wins, tight and close results.

“Maybe not an easy one, but we want to do our job today and that's it.”

With Rangers playing Thursday–Sunday, Rohl acknowledged the physical and mental challenge but refused to offer excuses, instead highlighting the importance of contributions from across the squad.

“This is always the challenge when you play Thursday and then Sunday straight, the opponent has the time to prepare for the week, but there's no excuses for us, that's the reason why we use the squad,” he said.

“We’ll be in some positions today, job-sharing. Some guys will start today, and the other guys have to finish the game.”

Dundee’s expected approach under Steven Pressley is to be organised, compact, and selective with pressing, which places further importance on attacking precision, something Skov Olsen is expected to help provide.

“I expect a very organised team,” Rohl said.

“They will not give us so many spaces today. You have to be very clinical, give them not so many opportunities for set-plays and silly fouls from our side.

“Then at the right moments, if you come into the box, be clinical, use the chances, because especially in such games you will not get so many chances.”

Despite Rangers strong run of seven wins in a row, Rohl’s focus remains on mentality and repeat standards.

“The self-confidence is there, the relief is there, but it's also about delivering again and again,” he said.

“We need the right mindset for such a game. Now we feel it's normal to win games, but for this you have to work hard to get the next three points on the board.”
