Former Rangers midfielder Aaron Ramsey is reportedly interested in a return to Scotland according to the CEO of The Professional Footballers Association Maheta Molango.
A list of PFA affiliated players currently out of contract but willing to relocate to Scotland with Scottish clubs was listed by Molango earlier this week and the Welsh international who spent the second half of the 2021/22 season at Ibrox was listed on it.
Joining on loan from Italian Serie A side Juventus on deadline day Ramsey was seen as a major coup for the Giovanni Van Bronckhorst’s side but missed large parts of the run in due to injury concerns.
He came on alongside Kemar Roofe as a late substitute in the 2022 UEFA Europa League final in Seville as Rangers took German Bundesliga side Frankfurt all the way to penalties after a 1-1 draw, with the former Arsenal man missing the only spot kick in a 5-4 shootout defeat.
Ramsey is a free agent after leaving Mexican club Pumas UNAM on Halloween after a difficult spell in which he made only six appearances, battled recurring fitness issues, and missed training sessions while dealing with an emotional personal crisis sparked by the disappearance of his dog, Halo.
While Rangers are not interested this shows that Ramsey may have a desire to right wrongs of the past and restore his reputation within the country.
Other players on the list include ex-Rangers players Barrie McKay and Greg Stewart, both also without clubs.
