Rangers Football Club is gearing up to launch a brand spanking new ticketing system for the 2023-24 season, according to an announcement by the club’s customer service manager David Milburn.

Milburn revealed the club has partnered with SeatGeek, a leading sports ticketing platform, to develop a new website that will replace the current outdated and overloaded system.

Thank goodness for that! Rangers fans will be breathing a huge sigh of relief after years of dealing with a ticketing setup that simply couldn’t handle the demand, especially for big games.

The new website can’t come soon enough for supporters who regularly struggle to buy tickets for matches at Ibrox or Hampden.

Milburn admitted the new system is still some time away, as transferring the massive amounts of data and records to the new platform is a “painfully slow process.” The club is targeting next season, likely 2024-25, for the new website to finally go live.

When it does launch, the new setup should be a vast improvement. SeatGeek already provides ticketing services for half the clubs in the English Premier League, including Manchester City, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Leicester City, and Newcastle United.

For now, Rangers fans will have to make do with the current ticketing website for the rest of this season and next. While the system has gotten slightly better recently, especially the payment process, the queuing system and capacity issues still frequently rear their ugly heads.

The new ticketing platform can’t come soon enough for Rangers supporters who have waited patiently for the club to fix this long-running headache.

When SeatGeek is officially unveiled, it’ll undoubtedly be a welcome sight for fans hoping to score tickets for the mighty Gers.
