Rangers Football Club bid adieu to their sporting director Ross Wilson today. Wilson has accepted an offer to take up the same role at English side Nottingham Forest after spending over three years at the Scottish giants.
During his tenure at Rangers, Wilson helped the club achieve tremendous success including winning the Scottish Premiership title, reaching the UEFA Europa League final and qualifying for the UEFA Champions League group stage.
According to Rangers chairman John Bennett, Wilson’s impact at the club extends well beyond the pitch.
In a statement, Bennett praised Wilson for transforming the Rangers Training Centre into a world-class facility and helping to establish a professional women’s team. The women’s team won their first Scottish Women’s Premier League title and the Sky Sports Cup under Wilson’s leadership.
Bennett said, “I would like sincerely to thank Ross for his enormous contribution to the development of Rangers both on and off the pitch. While we have enjoyed silverware and excellent European progress during his time, his legacy will be the development of the Rangers Training Centre into a top-class environment, and the integration and success of our women’s programme.”

A club statement also highlighted Wilson’s role in developing the Rangers Training Centre into an elite facility comparable to top European clubs.
Ross Wilson spent three and a half years at Rangers, taking over from former sporting director Filippo Giraldi. During his time, Rangers also received record transfer fees for some of their star players.
Wilson leaves behind a strong legacy at Rangers. His contributions have helped propel the club forward and establish a solid foundation for future success.
Rangers will miss his leadership and guidance but wish him the very best in his new role at Nottingham Forest.
