Rangers FC have set their sights on Scottish Premiership’s top scorer Lawrence Shankland, reportedly making a move to acquire the star striker from Hearts.

The Rangers have reportedly reached out to Hearts to inquire about the availability of their star striker Lawrence Shankland, according to The 4th Official. Looks like the Gers mean business this time and are keen on roping in some serious firepower up front.

The 27-year-old Glasgow native has been setting the Scottish Premiership ablaze this season, racking up an eye-popping 22 goals in just 40 appearances.

This lethal lad even netted a stunner of a hat trick against rivals Celtic in October. With stats like these, it’s no wonder Shankland has caught the attention of the national team, earning 5 caps for Scotland so far. He’s now got his sights set on the Premiership’s Golden Boot award this season.

On Sunday evening, The 4th Official tweeted that they’ve got the inside scoop on the Gers’ interest in Shankland. “Exclusive from me: Rangers have approached Hearts regarding Lawrence Shankland’s availability.,” they spilled the beans.

Lawrence Shankland has proven he’s a dab hand at hitting the back of the net in the Premiership, so Rangers fans must be buzzing at the prospect of the striker joining their ranks.

With Alfredo Morelos likely headed for the exit door once his contract’s up this summer and no new deal in sight, the Gers are gonna have to seriously splash some cash to inject new life into their front line.

If Morelos does do a runner, that’ll leave injury-prone Kemar Roofe and Antonio Colak as Beale’s only forward options. No wonder a move for Shankland seems a no-brainer.

The Hearts hotshot looks a ready-made replacement for Morelos and may just fit the bill as a Michael Beale-type forward.

Interestingly, Hearts only forked out 500,000 quid to acquire Shankland last summer. If that’s the case, Rangers should be able to snap him up for a pretty reasonable fee.

With a prolific track record of 50 goals in 61 appearances for Ayr United and 32 goals in 59 outings for Dundee United, Shankland seems the perfect attacking addition for Beale and co. to pursue in the upcoming transfer window.
