Michael Beale’s Plans for Squad Rebuild and Potential Signings
Signing the right players in key areas can help reduce the points gap to Celtic and may be just the answer Rangers fans have been looking for.
A successful transfer window doesn’t absorb silverware; it reduces the struggle within the league and lessens the heartache of yet another Celtic title. Many Gers managers have been using it for more than 50 years too!
Rangers boss Michael Beale has given a tell-all interview to Rangers TV where he chatted at length about the contract situations of current squad members and his plans for the summer transfer window.
Beale is expected to rebuild his bloated Rangers squad come summer and wants long-term deals to bring trophies back to Ibrox.
Potential summer squad changes?
We have too many players right now, in my opinion. That’s why we have a few extra due to injuries, to cover that. When I say too many, I look at how many lads we have on loan now too.
So when pre-season starts, they’re all back at the club. I want players to really know their role in the squad. It’s tough the more players you have.
Noah Sadiki – Anderlecht
The 18-year-old right-back’s linked with a move to Ibrox after an impressive season in Belgium. Out of contract at season’s end, the talented defender was close to joining Borussia Dortmund last summer. A long-term replacement for Tavernier?
Morgan Whittaker – Swansea City
Gers had three official bids rejected for the 22-year-old winger in January but he’s still ‘high up’ on Beale’s wishlist. Could be available again in summer after a successful loan spell at Plymouth Argyle.
Angus Gunn – Norwich City
Beale is likely to target a new shot-stopper in the off-season and Gunn’s got links to sporting director Ross Wilson from their time at Southampton. Still’s got two-and-a-half years left on his Canaries contract.

Final Note
In conclusion, Beale seem set to revamp Rangers’ squad with young, hungry talent in key positions.
Will Sadiki shore up the defence? Can Whittaker add creativity out wide? Will Gunn be the safe pair of hands between the sticks Rangers have lacked?
The summer of 2023 could be an exciting time at Ibrox if Beale get his transfers right. The Govan faithful will be hoping for more than just a trophy—they’ll want domination over their Glasgow rivals.
