Connor Goldson expresses his frustration over the team’s struggle to build a legacy after their 55th title win, as he battles to become an Ibrox legend.

Connor Goldson, Rangers’ rock-solid center-back, let out a heavy sigh as he spilled the beans on how the team just couldn’t seem to build a legacy after bagging their 55th title triumph.

You see, Goldson has got only two winner’s medals to his name and that gnaws away at him. He knows deep down that he can’t strut around calling himself an Ibrox legend with just that.

Since 2018, he been a force to reckon with in Scotland, racking up over 250 appearances for the Gers. Heck, he even played a crucial role in stopping Celtic’s 10-in-a-row dream and then led the team all the way to Seville. But now, he’s got a bone to pick with the fact that their 2021 title win didn’t kickstart a golden age of domination for the Rangers.

It seems like his gripe echoes that of the former chairman, Dave King, who’s been having a go at Douglas Park for not taking the club forward. And with Park now stepping down from his position, the timing’s uncanny.

As the clock ticks down to Saturday’s Old Firm showdown at Parkhead, Connor Goldson is getting restless. He knows that if Celtic wins, they’ll be a step closer to their second consecutive Premiership title. And as he reflects on his time at Ibrox, he admits, “I feel I should have won more.”

He’s torn between feeling like he’s underachieved and also recognizing the uphill battle they’ve fought to bring the club back from the brink. He is quick to remind everyone that they’ve come a long way, but he’s frustrated that they haven’t been able to capitalize on their wins.

Goldson’s got a point, though. He’s been part of some pretty monumental moments in the club’s history, like winning the first league title in a decade and ending a 13-year Hampden curse with a Scottish Cup victory. But he knows all too well that it ain’t enough to keep the fans happy.

With just eight games left and a nine-point gap to close, the Rangers are in a race against time to salvage this year’s Premiership title. And as they gear up to face Celtic for the first time since their lackluster Viaplay Cup final performance, he is determined to see his team do better.

He lays it out plain and simple: “We have three chances to win massive games of football for this club, this team, and our fans to build our confidence and to go into next season on a high.” And with that, the stage is set for an epic Old Firm face-off. Let the games begin!
