Rangers FC might receive a transfer bid from an Italian club not named AC Milan…
Rangers FC are focused on Saturday’s Scottish top flight clash against Dundee United, but the front office at Ibrox has more business on their agenda.
The Light Blues have seen a wide range of clubs express interest in their key players, but no one has attracted as much attention as Colombian international striker Alfredo Morelos.
“El Bufalo” has been linked with teams in England, France, Italy, Germany, and Portugal. The latest report from Foot Mercato claims that a notable Serie A outfit is keen on securing his services before the transfer deadline.
The executives at Ibrox were expecting a bid to come from AC Milan, especially after Fabio Capello’s recent statements, but, that has not happened yet. Instead, Fiorentina is the club planning to make a move for Morelos.
The Viola are the seventh team to express interest in Morelos over the last two months, so it remains to be seen how serious they actually are about this transfer. The aforementioned report goes on to say that there is one catch, though.
In order for Fiorentina to table a bid for the in-demand striker, they will have to sell a few of their own players. As a result, if something does come out of this interest, a deal for Morelos would take a few weeks to complete.
Rangers are holding out for an offer close to £20m, which means Fiorentina will need to break their transfer record to add the talented goal scorer.
For now, Morelos is still training with Rangers, and it would not be a surprise to see him start a few games as the Gers have three games in eight days starting on September 12th.
