Rangers continue to receive offers for their star striker despite Lille’s cooled interest.

Rangers have been active during the summer transfer window in terms of bringing quality strikers to the club, but now fans are waiting to see who departs and when.

Alfredo Morelos agreed to personal terms with Lille, however, the front office at Ibrox was not content with the French club’s bid.

As a result, it looks like Lille have turned their attention to Gent striker Jonathan David. Despite Lille’s cooled interest in a deal for Morelos, Rangers could be expecting another offer on the table in the near future as Italian giants AC Milan have expressed interest in the Colombian international.

According to an exclusive report from Football Insider, AC Milan have contacted Rangers about a possible deal for Morelos. The Light Blues have handled Morelos’ transfer saga extremely well as they have not rushed to accept the first offer that came their way.

In addition, the club was quick to sign two talented strikers in Kemar Roofe (Anderlecht) and Cedric Itten (St. Gallen) for a combined total of just under £7.5m, which is great business.

With Roofe and Itten now in the squad, Steven Gerrard has two clinical finishers he can depend on to lead the front line when Morelos’ inevitable exit occurs.

The fact that some top clubs have their sights set on Morelos should not come as a surprise. With 54 goals and 12 assists to his name across all competitions in a Rangers shirt, AC Milan would land a lethal finisher who can score in multiple ways, and he is often praised for his movement off the ball.

It remains to be seen if AC Milan’s interest will translate to any formal transfer offer, but the talks between them and Rangers is worth monitoring.
