La Liga side Sevilla have expressed an interest in signing Connor Barron from Rangers as they assess options to strengthen their midfield depth.
The Spanish club have identified the 23-year-old as a potential target as they continue to examine the market for midfield reinforcements.
Barron's performances for Rangers have attracted interest from clubs across Europe, with Sevilla now the latest side to register an interest in the midfielder.
The former Aberdeen player joined Rangers in the summer of 2024 on a free transfer and has established himself as an important member of the squad during his time at Ibrox but seems down the pecking order under new boss Derek McInnes.
He has also missed several weeks of the early season with an injury.
His emergence has not gone unnoticed, with clubs in England, Italy and now Spain keeping tabs on his situation.
Sevilla interest adds to competition
Sevilla's interest could develop further as the summer window progresses, although there is currently no indication that an agreement has been reached between the clubs.
The Spanish side are looking at Barron as they seek greater depth and competition in the middle of the pitch.
A move to La Liga would represent a significant step in Barron's career, but Rangers will be under no obligation to sell unless their valuation of the player is met.

Sevilla are not the only club monitoring the situation.
West Ham ready for Scottish raid
West Ham United are also interested in Barron and have been keeping track of the midfielder as they consider several options for their midfield.
The Premier League club are also monitoring Celtic midfielder Arne Engels and Hibernian's Josh Mulligan, with the trio understood to be among the players being considered.
That means Barron is one of several midfield targets on West Ham's radar rather than their only option.
Bologna already made offer
Italian side Bologna have gone a step further than the other interested clubs, having already made an official enquiry for Barron this summer.
The approach demonstrates the level of interest in the Rangers midfielder and could put further pressure on the Ibrox club to make a decision over his future.
Rangers will also have to weigh up the sporting implications of losing Barron.
The financial aspect could nevertheless be attractive to Rangers if a substantial offer arrives.
The club have already been active in reshaping the squad and any significant sale would potentially provide further funds for recruitment.
With Sevilla, West Ham and Bologna all showing interest, Barron's situation is one worth monitoring closely.
With the transfer window still open, further approaches for the 23-year-old could follow in the coming weeks.
