Rangers U19s will begin their Glasgow Cup group-stage campaign against a Partick Thistle first team XI at the Rangers Training Centre on Tuesday evening.
The match will kick off at 7.45pm, with Rangers' youngsters facing a significant test against an experienced Thistle side.
The fixture represents the opening game of Rangers' group-stage campaign, with the young Gers scheduled to face Queen's Park on August 18 in their second match.
The Glasgow Cup provides Rangers' academy players with an opportunity to gain competitive experience against senior opposition, with Tuesday's fixture offering a particularly demanding test against one of the Championship’s top teams.
Rangers looking to go further this season
Rangers will be looking to improve on last season's Glasgow Cup campaign after their U19 side reached the semi-finals.
The young Gers were beaten by Clyde's first team at the semi-final stage, with the Bully Wee subsequently reaching the delayed final.
Clyde are still waiting to complete last season's competition, with their final against Celtic U19s yet to be played.
That means Rangers will enter this year's competition looking to go one step further and reach the latter stages after falling short against senior opposition last term.
The experience of last season's semi-final should also provide valuable preparation for Tuesday's meeting with Thistle. The young Bears recorded an impressive 5-0 victory over Mark Wilson’s side in last year’s group stage.
