Rangers' former Head of Scouting Operations Fraser Murray has confirmed his departure from the club after almost nine years at Ibrox.
Murray announced on LinkedIn that he is now ready to pursue a new challenge after spending the majority of his professional career within the Rangers recruitment structure.
The recruitment specialist joined Rangers in 2017 as an Academy Performance Analyst before progressing through a number of roles within the club's scouting and recruitment department.
He most recently served as Head of Scouting Operations between April 2024 and June 2026.
“Having had a few months of reflection and time off, and after 9 years at a historical football club that means a lot to me and my family, it’s time for a new challenge,” Murray wrote.

During his time at Ibrox, Murray worked under several different recruitment structures and regimes, and he specifically thanked Andy Scoulding, Ross Wilson and Nils Koppen for the opportunities and support they provided.
“I’ve had the opportunity to work with many top-calibre professionals,” he said.
“A special thanks to Andy Scoulding, Ross Wilson and Nils Koppen for the opportunities, support and experience along the way.
“To everyone who has worked under me, thank you for your hard work and support on a daily basis.
“It was always appreciated and never taken for granted.”
His departure represents the end of a lengthy spell at Rangers during which he progressed from an academy-focused analytical position into a senior role overseeing scouting operations.
Murray's LinkedIn profile shows his progression through the club, including spells as Technical Scout, Recruitment Analyst and Scouting Insights Manager before taking charge of Scouting Operations.
'Looking forward to the next chapter'
Murray made clear that he is now focused on what comes next rather than looking back at his Rangers career.
“I have met people and made memories which will stay with me forever,” he said.
“Looking forward to seeing what the next chapter brings and taking the experiences gained into something new.”
His next role has not been revealed.
Murray's departure comes as Rangers continue to operate with a recruitment structure that has undergone significant change in recent years, with the club continuing to shape its scouting and talent-identification operation under the current football department. Long-serving scout Mervyn Day also retired this summer.
