Rangers have seen another change behind the scenes after Rhiannon Melrose confirmed she has left the club just months after joining the commercial team.
Melrose took to LinkedInrh to reveal that she is no longer in the role, admitting the departure was not the outcome she had expected.
She had joined Rangers as a Partnership Sales Executive in April, having previously worked in partnership and business development roles elsewhere in the sports and broadcast industry.
In a post reflecting on her brief spell at Ibrox, Melrose wrote: “Following on from my last post, where I shared how excited I was to join Rangers Football Club, unfortunately things have changed and I’m no longer in the role.
“It’s certainly not the outcome I expected when taking on the role, and I was genuinely disappointed that the opportunity didn’t continue. Having grown up supporting Rangers, being given the chance to work for the club was something I was incredibly proud of.
“Although my time there was shorter than expected, I’m grateful for the experience, the people I met and the opportunity to work within the commercial team. I’m especially thankful to everyone who made my time there so welcoming and enjoyable.”
Melrose had previously spoken publicly about her excitement at joining the club she grew up supporting, describing her first month as a “great” experience.
Her latest update suggests her departure came sooner than anticipated, although she has not provided details on why the role ended.
She revealed that she subsequently took a month away to reset and spend time with friends and family, while also completing a half marathon.
Melrose is now looking ahead to her next opportunity, adding: “Now, I’m looking ahead and feeling refreshed, motivated and excited for my next steps. I know my journey doing what I love to do doesn’t stop here.”
The departure represents another change within Rangers' commercial operation during a period of significant off-field activity at Ibrox.
