Rangers have updated their European squad ahead of tonight's UEFA Champions League playoff round first leg match with Belgian side Club Brugge at Ibrox.

Russell Martin named his initial squad last Friday, 15th August, ahead of the crunch tie, where the winners will advance to the league phase of European football’s elite competition.

Two changes were made to the squad from the third qualifying round, where Rangers defeated Czech side Viktoria Plzen 4-2 across two legs.

Brazilian full back Jefte dropped out, ahead of his reported £4m+ move to Palmeries, as did Oscar Cortes, with the winger down the pecking order at Ibrox despite his loan move being made permanent for around £4.5m this summer.

Coming in were the duo of Thelo Aasgaard, who made his debut for Rangers and return from injury in Saturday evening's 4-2 victory over Alloa at Ibrox in the Premier Sports Cup, and Mikey Moore, the Spurs loanee also making his debut against the Wasps after overcoming clearance issues now he has turned 18.

Rangers were allowed to make one more replacement ahead of the match with a deadline set for 11pm the night before the match, and they have done so.

New signing Jayden Meghoma has been added to the squad, the left back signed on a season long loan from English Premier League side Brentford yesterday and is the only registered left back in the squad ahead of Jefte’s departure, with Ridvan Yilmaz frozen out of the first team and Robbie Fraser having been sold to William Hill Championship side Dunfermline Athletic.

Dropping out to make room for the 19-year-old former Southampton man is Albanian midfielder Nedim Bajrami.

The 26-year-old has been removed despite his goal and man-of-the-match performance at the weekend, with reports still linking him with a move away from Ibrox ahead of the transfer window closing in early September.

The full squad for the match is as follows: Jack Butland, Liam Kelly, Kieran Wright; James Tavernier, Max Aarons, John Souttar, Nasser Djiga, Jayden Meghoma, Emmanuel Fernandez, Leon King; Joe Rothwell, Connor Barron, Mohammed Diomande, Thelo Aasgaard, Lyall Cameron, Kieran Dowell, Djeidi Gassama, Nico Raskin, Mikey Moore; Cyriel Dessers, Hamza Igamane, Oliver Antman, Josh Gentles and Danilo.

Young, club trained players such as Bailey Rice and Paul Nsio are also eligible to play and are included on a B-list.

This means that the likes of Cortes and Bajrami are unregistered and unable to feature. Joining them are the likes of Ben Davies and Jose Cifuentes who have been told they can leave. Also out are the injured Rabbi Matondo, Yilmaz and Dujon Sterling who are injured, with the former two also been told they can depart this summer.
