Rangers have reportedly held talks with Arsenal over a potential loan move for highly-rated youngster Max Dowman.
Transfer reporter Ekrem Konur claims Rangers and Celtic are among more than a dozen clubs to have contacted Arsenal regarding the 16-year-old, with the Gunners reportedly open to a temporary move.
Dowman will be eligible for a loan once he turns 17 on December 31, and Arsenal are understood to be considering a temporary move as they assess his pathway into regular first-team football.
Cautious claim
However, the claim should be treated with some caution.
Konur is not regarded as one of the most reliable sources when it comes to transfer reporting, and there has been no confirmation from either Rangers or Arsenal that talks have taken place or that a deal is being considered.
Should Arsenal decide to send Dowman out on loan, Rangers could nevertheless represent an attractive destination given the club's recent experience of developing young players from England.
