Nicolas Raskin was born on 23rd February 2001 in Liège, Belgium. He began playing football at local club Royal Stade Waremmien FC before moving to Standard Liège in 2008.
After seven years, he moved to join the youth academy at Anderlecht in 2015, and then Gent in 2017. He had already made four appearances for Belgium’s U-15s and another 12 for the U-16 team.

Senior Debut and Unique Honor
Raskin earned his professional debut at Gent in February 2018—in the league against Sint-Truiden—and in the process, became the first player born in the 21st century to ever play in the Belgian Pro League.
However, it would prove to be his only appearance for the club, and in January 2019, Raskin returned to Standard Liège—where he had played most of his youth football.
He continued to progress through the age groups with Belgium, and played 20 matches for the U17s and U18s combined between 2017 and 2019.
In the next four years at Standard Liège, he provided 13 assists and scored five goals in 96 appearances across all competitions. There were no trophies but he finished runners-up for the Belgian Cup in 2020-21.

The Move to Glasgow

“I feel very excited to be here and I also feel very proud to join a very big club. I’m looking forward to playing at Ibrox. It was very exciting when I was told of Rangers’ interest because it’s a big club.
I’m looking forward to making my debut and I hope it can be as soon as possible.”
Manager Michael Beale welcomed Raskin to the club, saying:
“As a football club, Nicolas is a player that we have tracked for a long time and we are very pleased to welcome him and his family to Rangers.
“He is a young player that has already amassed good experience both in domestic and European competition. I am looking forward to working with him closely and integrating him into our team.”
Sporting Director Ross Wilson commented:
“We are delighted to further strengthen our squad today with Nico's arrival.
“He's a talented young player and someone who I know will enjoy working and further developing his talent with Michael and our staff.”
