The head coach was keen to highlight the psychological response from her squad after defeats to both Glasgow City and Hibernian, who wasted no time setting the tone, speaking to The Rangers Journal post-match she said: “The professionalism and the mindset of the group today was positive from the get-go.

“We wanted a quick start and getting that early goal really set the tone.”

Rangers’ aggressive approach was deliberate, with Crichton aware that Hamilton would attempt to frustrate and stay organised for as long as possible: “We wanted to take the wind out of their sails as quickly as we possibly could,” she added.

“I’ve got a lot of respect for them and the way they set up, so the early breakthrough was important.”

What followed was a dominant performance built on repetition, cohesion and authority in the final third, elements Crichton had been demanding.

“The manner and the intent, the types of goals that we scored, the repetition and the really good things we’ve been looking for from the group was there and we managed to sustain that for the most part,” she said.

“I thought we were excellent, aside from a wee 10-minute spell in the second half where we came away from doing the basics.”

With Rangers back among the goals, and back in statement-making territory, Crichton underlined that the title race remains wide open despite recent setbacks. “We’ll be in a title fight regardless of what the league table looks like from week to week,” she insisted.

“It can change very quickly. Last week against Hibs we were frustrated with the performance more than the result, but it’s still early and there’s a long, long way to go.”

She also acknowledged that goal difference could be significant in what is expected to be a tight campaign: “The goals can be a defining factor come the end of the season, so we’re pleased to have racked them up here at Ibrox.”

Crichton made five changes for the match, a mix of rotation, enforced decisions and a growing confidence in squad depth.

“We’re looking to utilise the squad and every game is different,” she explained. “We want everybody to feel part of it. It was great to have Camille [Lafaix] back, she can be a really important player for us.”

That depth has not always been available, but with players returning and fitness building, the momentum is gathering internally.

“Players are getting fitter, stronger, more robust, more resilient, more confident as well,” said Crichton.

“We’ll use the international break as an opportunity to work on fitness and physicality, I still think we can squeeze more out of the group.”

As several players now head off for international duty, Crichton had a simple message for her younger talents stepping onto the global stage.

“Go and enjoy it. Pulling on the jersey for your national team should be one of the proudest moments in your career.

“Looking back, there were too many moments I allowed to pass me by. I want my players to live in the moment and enjoy it.”

With belief restored, confidence rebuilt, and momentum rediscovered, Rangers now enter the break with clarity of purpose. And when they return, the message is clear, keep the foot down.
