Derek McInnes has confirmed Rangers have been handed a timely fitness boost ahead of Friday night's Premiership opener against Dundee United, with Thelo Aasgaard and Cameron Devlin both expected to be available.
The Rangers boss also provided updates on Connor Barron, Jose Cifuentes, Nico Raskin and John Souttar as his side prepare to begin the new campaign at Tannadice.
Aasgaard and Devlin fit to face Dundee United
Aasgaard was forced off during Rangers' pre-season victory over West Ham, but McInnes says the Norway international has recovered.
"Thelo Aasgaard trained this morning. He obviously came off on Sunday against West Ham, but the shoulder's not causing him any discomfort.
"He'll train fully again tomorrow and obviously all okay for the game."
McInnes also expects Cammy Devlin to be available despite managing a calf issue this week.
"Cammy has had a little calf knock, but he'll fully train tomorrow.
"We've just resisted him making contact. He's been doing some work with the physios and some ball work on his own."
Barron still building fitness
Connor Barron remains behind the rest of the squad after an interrupted pre-season.
"Connor’s a wee bit behind. He's only had seven or eight days of pre-season.
"He’s had a little knee niggle. Sunday might come too quick for him."
McInnes also confirmed that Jose Cifuentes has undergone surgery, while academy prospect Ashton Scally remains unavailable after missing the entirety of pre-season.
"Cifuentes has had an operation as well. Other than that, we're good to go."
The Ecuadorian has not featured for Rangers since late 2023 and has just returned to Scotland following his latest loan move away with Toronto. This new blow could see him remain at Ibrox post-September despite the club being keen to offload him.
Latest on Raskin and Souttar
McInnes was also asked about Nico Raskin amid continued speculation over the midfielder's future.
The Rangers manager confirmed the Belgium international is due back on Thursday but insisted there have been no developments regarding a possible transfer.
"Nico's due to arrive late tomorrow.
"These conversations are between the club and the agent. Whether that's something that comes in, I'm pretty sure we'll look at that if it comes in. But nothing as yet."
Meanwhile, McInnes admitted John Souttar could leave in search of regular football but stressed no deal is currently close.
"John's just been working away brilliantly just to try and keep himself right.
"I think he might have one or two options, but I don't know, to be honest."
The Rangers boss added: "He's in training with us and he's in the building, but it might be a situation where John looks to go elsewhere to get regular football.
"We've had a conversation about that. It's got to be somewhere that he wants to go as well."
